About Rupa
First and foremost, Rupa is a mother to a beautiful soul and embraces many roles in her daily life, including wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sibling, and friend.
Rupa is the Founder & Managing Partner of Arāya Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in early-stage startups transforming the way we live and work. Arāya Ventures focuses on health, fintech, commerce, and the future of work, with over 50% of its portfolio companies operating in the AI space.
The firm’s debut $25 million fund received a $7 million commitment from British Business Investments, a subsidiary of the British Business Bank—marking the first time the institution has backed a solo General Partner (GP).
Rupa is also a finalist for Angel Investor of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, and actively runs the fund to support bold, visionary entrepreneurs.
In addition, she leads the ĀVA Investment Academy, the fastest-growing angel investment academy globally. Founded on the principle that angel investing should be inclusive and accessible, ĀVA offers a comprehensive 9-module course covering topics such as deal assessment, portfolio construction, accessing quality opportunities, and hands-on case studies. The academy operates across the UK, Europe, Middle East, and North America.
With a strong background in investment banking and years of experience as an angel investor, Rupa is deeply passionate about empowering early-stage founders and delivering real-world, hands-on learning experiences in every course she teaches.
